Watch on YouTube ›Simon Townsend's Wonder World ยท an off-air home recording from around 1982
This is not an episode. Archive tape 143 is an off-air home recording from Channel 10, taped on Betamax and later digitised by the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA CatID 1572731). Whoever pressed record caught pieces of several Wonder World programmes, along with the music clips and the ads that went to air around them.
The recording dates are approximate. Going by the news and music on the tape it was made around 1982, but nothing on it gives a confirmed broadcast date, so this page does not give one. The number 143 identifies the tape, not an episode.
Below are the reporters' stories, the music and the vintage ads, in the order they sit on the tape. Where a story or an ad also has a YouTube Short, the Short sits with it. Click a picture to play the video here. Simon and Woodrow's studio segments from the same tape have their own page: Simon, Woodrow and the Wonder World Viewers.
The reporters' stories on the tape, each with its YouTube Short where there is one.
