Vox pop
Also: vox pops, vox
A quick round of street interviews with ordinary people, from the Latin vox populi, the voice of the people.
A vox pop is the "what do you reckon?" you gather on the footpath: short, varied opinions from the public on the topic of the day. Done well it adds colour and a reality check. Done lazily it is filler. Get a spread of people, ask the same clear question, and use the answers that actually say something.
