Embargo
Also: embargoed
A condition on a press release or report that you may not publish it before a set time and date.
An embargo lets sources hand out a report early so reporters can prepare, on the promise nobody publishes until the clock strikes. Break an embargo and you may get the scoop by minutes and get cut off the list for good. Honour them, but check the time zone, because an embargo broken by accident still counts.
