The BEST way to store photos is to use a digital camera, and store your photos on computer disks. This is the 21st century and it's a digital world. However, maybe you're still on an ordinary 35mm SLR camera, and like you, many of my students worry about how to store. Go to a photography shop (preferably a big one) and ask to see their storage systems. There are boxes and plastic albums for trannies (transparencies) and there are albums with plastic display sleeves for negatives-and-prints. If you're going to store, you also need a system of numbering and describing so you can FIND particular photos. A good store can advise you on this too. Many of the good books on photography describe how to best store and catalogue. I'm not trying to avoid your question. But it's a big topic, with many different ways of achieving a system personally suitable to you.
