I notice you've used the word "got" or *"get". I use "got" or "get" sometimes in speaking, but in writing I usually replace it with a better word. This is a personal preference, but I find "get" and "got" a bit ugly. I feel that its replacement word is usually better sounding and more precise. Words like:
obtain bring learn reach possess
earn gain acquire hit prepare
catch fetch manage
. . . and so on and so on. Try your thesaurus . . . there are better words than "got" and "get". Or just lose it and don't replace it. That often works well.
